My birthday is coming up in a few weeks and I'm finding it hard to get motivated to make a birthday list, so I thought it'd make a passable blog post, especially because I'd like to ask for suggestions from all y'all.
- Massage Gift Certificate from A Perfect Touch in Hull. Stress relief is much needed and appreciated these days.
- Gift Certificate to The Spotlight in Hull. My hair needs a fresh look!
- Money for clothes. My wardrobe needs an overhaul.
- A Dodge Grand Caravan. Just checking if you're still reading.
- A personal space heater (yes, even though it's April) because office temps are unpredictable and it's hard to type with mittens on.
- Any of Jon Acuff's books: Stuff Christians Like
, Gazelles, Baby Steps and 37 Other Things Dave Ramsey Taught Me about Debt

. After he started working for Dave Ramsey, I started following Stuff Christians Like and his Jon Acuff blog. His writing is honest, hilarious, and hits home. I don't have any of his books yet and they're not the type that usually hit the public library.
- Uncle John's Bathroom Reader Tunes into TV
or Uncle John's Bathroom Reader Plunges into Hollywood
. I have almost ALL of their regular books and many specialty-topic editions. These are perfect travel books for waiting in airports, reading before bed, etc.
- Heck, if we're going all crazy on the books, might as well put a Kindle
on the list.
Okay, that's probably enough for now. It's not like there are tens of people lined up to buy me birthday gifts, but if you asked me for a list--here it is! Trust me, it was very hard not to start picking out toys, shoes and clothes in size 24m, so this is the best I can do for things for "me".
