More Sprinkles!

On Saturday morning, I decided that instead of throwing away all the leftover odds and ends of frosting in the fridge, Ryan and I should bake some cupcakes! He was a willing helper (if by willing you mean sticking his fingers in EVERYTHING) and we ended up with red, green, white, and orange cupcakes. He was most interested in putting sprinkles on all of them!
  

Finally, after lunch, it was time to test them out! 


I'm pretty sure he lickd all the frosting off the top and then asked me to re-frost it so he could put more sprinkles on and start again. To him, cupcakes are simply a more acceptable frosting vehicle. I should have just saved the time and cake mix and handed him a spoon!

We enjoyed sharing them with Abbie and Saylor at supper that night and I have to say, they tasted pretty great. The secret is adding a cup of sour cream and a tsp of vanilla to the regular cake mix recipe, plus making the Wilton Buttercream frosting with half vanilla flavoring and half almond. Yum!
