Ryan is 8 months old! His milestones this month include breaking through his top 4 teeth for a total of 6, trying lots of new food, and babbling with a few consonants...mostly "a-dah, a-dah". Could this be a result of the 5 days he spent with "A-dam"? aka "da-da"? He can play pretty independently and likes to put blocks in and out of his box, reaches (and gets) things from all around him, and likes to bang two cups or bath toys together. He still does not like rolling and rarely rolls over without heavy prompting and never rolls from front to back. He's pretty content to just sit and play and has no interest in being on his tummy. He has started scooting back a little bit when on his tummy but mostly due to frustration, not intention. He really likes to stand up tall and jump when you hold him on your lap. He can stand when holding on to his crib rail or play cube, but isn't pulling himself up.
He continues to smile a lot and likes to laugh when you make silly noises or faces. Recently he's started sleeping on his side with his feet against the crib, but in the morning he has usually returned to his "napping" position of laying on his back with his head resting in his hands. We continue to be blessed with good health and pretty good humor (except when he is done eating and you get up to get the washcloth--then he screams for a few seconds. The kid likes to eat. A lot.)
Ryan has gotten to spend lots of one-on-one time with both dad and mom this month as we both were away from home a few nights and he's also enjoyed lots of family time with graduations and weekend visits. We are so thankful for Ryan and for everyone who loves him!

So maybe when we come to visit next week Lincoln can show Ryan how much fun it is to crawl around and Ryan can convince Lincoln to get more teeth. How does that sound?!? ;o)
