I had grand ideas to really punch up the laundry closet makeover, but inspired by my sister, decided to just post the present "after" picture because in all reality, getting some Pinterest-inspired "decoration" done in the Laundry closet is near the bottom of the priority list. So, here are the basics:
When we bought our house, we were glad to find the laundry was located on the main floor, even if a "closet" at the end of the hallway wasn't as desirable as "room." It's actually works quite well and is convenient. With the rearrangement of Ryan's room/office supplies, we needed a little more storage. I also decided the white walls were a little too "blah" and had some green paint I'd purchased for the kitchen half-wall (which I ended up painting over with purple). So, the whole of this makeover was installing a white wire shelf system from Lowe's and painting the walls. We also installed a paper towel holder (the cleaning supplies are in the cupboard above it) and some hooks for things like the flyswatter and flashlight. I'm happy with how the color brightened up the space/made it feel like it's own room, and am enjoying the extra storage. I forgot to take Before pictures until we'd already started prepping for paint, but this gives you a good idea of the change:
