At 9 months, Ryan is starting to figure out how to play with his toys the "right way". He has fun with his Playskool "ball popper" toy now that he's figured out how to keep it going by pushing down the top. He loves the noise and watching the balls pop and spin. However, no matter how many toys you give a baby, they inevitably end up loving something free and ordinary more! In Ryan's case, he is fascinated with paper and magazines. He can stay busy destroying a free BabyTalk magazine for a half hour! He used to just crinkle the pages, but today he figured out how to rip them out and tear them into smaller pieces. I have to keep a close eye that he doesn't eat the paper and wash his hands afterward, but it sure is easy to entertain him this way!
