Hawaii: Sunrise on Haleakala

On Monday evening, we booked our biking trip for the next morning and promptly headed to bed at 8:00pm. That's what you do when your alarm is going to go off at midnight! At 1:00, the van from the Haleakala Bike Co. picked us up at our resort and we drove to the bike shop in Haiku

I told Adam he looked like he was on "Deadliest Catch," not watching a Hawaiian sunrise in July!

 At 6:00am sharp, we were back on the bus and headed to another lookout where the volcano landscape was more visible.

 It was a once-in-a-lifetime experience watching the sun come up above the clouds!
