Summerfest

The day we moved into our new house, my sister graciously volunteered to watch Ryan since she's pregnant and he's less-than-helpful when moving furniture. Ryan had a GREAT day since it was Summerfest in Hometown! First, he cheered on Uncle Wade in the 5k and even got to try on his "first in his age category" medal.

Congrats, Wade for finishing 2nd in the overall race!
Next, they checked out the park where there was a carnival and sand volleyball. Ryan liked playing on the dinosaurs best.
After lunch, I took a break from moving to come to town for the parade. Ryan was waiting patiently with Uncle Wade and Aunt Abbie.
He survived the hot sun with the help of his trusty hat and sippy cup of ice water.
Ryan really enjoyed this parade--it was 1.5 hours long and had lots of trucks, floats, tractors, and CANDY. Without even trying, we collected a bag full of candy. Ryan enjoyed the tootsie rolls and caramels best.
He liked the Shriner's Rat Patrol, "big trucks", waving at the pretty girls, and when this little puppy came by to say "hi."
We even waved to Great-Grandpa who was in the parade!
Thanks, Abbie and Wade, for such a fun day!
