Race weekend

23 weeks pregnant in Victory Lane
I took off on Friday morning to go work in Victory Lane at the Iowa Speedway in Newton. Friday was a little cool and blustery and another gal and after handing out prizes in the afternoon, another gal and I were able to head back to Des Moines instead of staying for the race. On Saturday, it was very hot and humid and we spent the afternoon handing out swag that people won in the prize booth (it blows pieces of paper around with point values and they get to pick a prize based on the points they grabbed). My co-workers were gracious in letting me sit most of the time in the shade of the tent.

We stayed for the race on Saturday night and waited for the winner of the Iowa Corn Indy 300 to arrive in Victory Lane.

Presenting a pizza to the race winner (He ate the whole piece and his crew finished off the rest!)
It was a late night that night and we left well on time the next morning to make it back for Sunday dinner, but it was a fun to be part of something big!
